Passion Project
Welcome to my passion project! Kapwa is a word in Tagalog meaning "to embrace in shared identity". Through these multi-disciplinary events we strive to bring Asian and AAPI artists together, creating a space for us to cultivate a shared sense of community through music.

With a cast of Curtis Institute of Music musicians, Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists, freelance and seasoned professionals, our first recital program included classical voice, instrumental (violin, guitar, piano, oboe, traditional Japanese shamisen, traditional Hawaiian ukulele), multimedia, cultural fashion pieces, and original compositions. Through these platforms we highlighted Bengali, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Indian, Japanese, Korean and Tongan cultures. Follow our instagram @kapwa_music for updates on the project and to get an inside look at our creative process.
The tickets to this event were free in hopes of being accessible and open to everyone. In lieu of tickets, we strongly urge you to support the Maui Strong Fund which is providing financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people and places affected by the devastating Lahaina, Maui wildfires.
